I have for some time in coaching sessions and one to one meetings with my first line reports, suggested a focus on strengths rather than trying to fill gaps in areas of weakness. Completing a Strengths Profile and reflecting on it for myself and then undertaking the online accreditation, has given me a fantastic tool and platform to have much more structured strengths conversations. It has also reinforced my views that a focus on strengths is beneficial on a personal and organisational level. I am looking forward to using what I have learned to help support others.
